The importance of regular meetings and further promotion of bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Tajikistan

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov during the United Nations General Assembly.

Ministers Dacic and Aslov stressed the importance of regular meetings and further promotion of bilateral co-operation between the two friendly countries. They pointed to the great potential existing between the two countries for the development of bilateral economic relations, for the purpose of which it was necessary to identify common denominators of mutual interest.

During the talks, they confirmed their readiness to further strengthen their mutual dialogue and expressed particular satisfaction over the forthcoming visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan to Serbia.

Both sides also expressed an interest to appoint honorary consuls in Serbia and Tajikistan who would work to bring the two countries even closer together.

The two collocutors also exchanged views on the most important processes in the multilateral field and agreed next steps in order to successfully develop cooperation, based on the principles of respect and mutual support on the international level.
