First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic attended a traditional informal dinner for Western Balkan leaders hosted by Federica Mogherini, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.

Minister Dacic emphasized that full EU membership was Serbia's key foreign policy goal. He underlined that Serbia and the entire region belonged in the EU.

Serbian Foreign Minister pointed out that Serbia was advocating peace and stability in the region and that the region's stability was one of the foreign policy priorities to which Serbia was committed.

Strict compliance with the agreed and negotiated frameworks for regional cooperation by all participants in the region, without exception, was a precondition for successful implementation and promotion of regional cooperation, Minister Dacic stated at the informal dinner.

The Minister said that Serbia was committed to dialogue with Pristina and to reaching a compromise solution. He expressed his expectation that the incoming EU High Representative would continue to contribute more resolutely to this process in order to arrive at solutions acceptable to all parties, while insisting at the same time on the fulfilment of all undertaken obligations.

Minister Dacic thanked HR/VP Federica Mogherini for her past efforts and wished her success in her professional endeavors in the future.

All guests at the dinner expressed solidarity with Albania and the Albanian people struck by an earthquake and a series of aftershocks over the weekend.
