First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic wrote a condolence message to the family of the late Gordan Mihic.

"Please accept my most heartfelt condolences following the death of Gordan Mihic, who was an unrivalled screenwriter, author, professor and indefatigable champion of freedom of expression.

One of the best and most authentic storytellers of never-ending human yarns has left us. The greatest actors cut their teeth at his opus ranging from comedy musicals such as Zvizduk u osam, the Yugoslav Black Wave, the turn of the century works and to the Royal House of Nemanjic historical drama. His achievements became our collective memory and an inextricable part of both our culture and slang.

Gordan is and will be remembered as a celebrated screenwriter, his name being synonymous with the golden era of Serbian film and TV production. He was also part of my generation's formative years and, I believe, a role model for succeeding generations", reads the condolence message signed by Minister Dacic.
