First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a courtesy call from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Portuguese Republic to the Republic of Serbia Maria Virgínia Mendes Da Silva Pina.

Extending his welcome to the Ambassador, Minister Dacic pointed to the importance of further solidification of bilateral relations between the two countries, which he assessed as good. He emphasized that extra efforts should be made to improve the underdeveloped economic cooperation, and to intensify the political dialogue.

The interlocutors agreed that there was common interest in deepening and strengthening all forms of bilateral cooperation and that there was significant potential for further enhancement of economic cooperation.

Minister Dacic expressed his special gratitude for the continuous and active support that the Portuguese Republic lent to the Republic of Serbia in the context of European integration, expressing his belief that it would be maintained in the future, too.

Ambassador Maria Virgínia Mendes Da Silva Pina reaffirmed support to the Serbian European integration process, adding that it was necessary to intensify both the political dialogue and exchange of visits and to maintain mutual support in international fora.
