Minister Dacic receives a courtesy call from newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Serbia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a courtesy call from the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Serbia Mochammad Chandra Widya Yudha, following the assumption of his duties.

Minister Dacic wished Ambassador Yudha a successful and pleasant stay in Serbia, expressing hope that our joint efforts would for certain contribute to a further promotion of the traditionally friendly ties between Serbia and Indonesia, established 65 years ago. The Minister conveyed his expectation that the period to come would see the two countries achieve even better results, particularly concerning economic and parliamentary cooperation as well as cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture, and sports.

Minister Dacic said that he was pleased with the high level of understanding existing between Serbia and Indonesia on key issues for both countries. He underlined in particular the gratitude to Indonesia for its principled and unambiguous position concerning non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of so-called "Kosovo", and for its continued support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.

Both sides affirmed their readiness to strengthen the mutual high-level dialogue, in which context Minister Dacic voiced hope that the Foreign Minister of Indonesia would pay a visit to Serbia in the period ahead.

Minister Dacic took the opportunity to underline that he was particularly pleased with the years-long Serbia-Indonesia cooperation in the context of interfaith dialogue, an important scope in the two countries' comprehensive bilateral cooperation, as the fourth meeting is scheduled for October later this year in Indonesia.

Indonesian Ambassador Mochammad Yudha thanked Minister Dacic for the welcome, affirming the interest of Indonesia for the further strengthening of its traditionally friendly relations with Serbia. He conveyed his belief that during his term the Serbia-Indonesia relations would be raised to an even higher level in the period ahead, while stressing in particular the importance of strengthening the economic cooperation and regular political dialogue. The Ambassador was grateful for the excellent multilateral cooperation and in particular for the support Serbia extended to Indonesia's candidacy for a non-permanent member of the UNSC in 2019-2020. He reiterated once again the firm position of Indonesia concerning its non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of "Kosovo" and that it would remain unchanged in the future.
