Minister Dacic received Japan’s State Minister of the Environment

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today Minoru Kiuchi , State Minister of the Environment and Secretary General of the Japan-Serbia Parliamentary Group of Friendship in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan.

The talks evolving in a cordial atmosphere assessed that Serbia and Japan were tied by a strong interest and commitment to continuing an all-round and mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation with further strengthening of meaningful, multi-layered and intensive mutual contacts between the Government and Parliamentary representatives of the two states.

Minister Dacic expressed particular satisfaction with the achieved results and the level of cooperation between Serbia and Japan which were particularly boosted by a historic visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to the Republic of Serbia in January 2018. The Minister noted an ascending trend in overall relations between the two countries and reaffirmed Serbia's steady commitment to further developing cooperation in all areas of common interest.

The Japanese official pointed out that Serbia and Japan fostered amicable relations and shared many common values such as freedom, democracy and human rights. He reaffirmed his personal readiness to contribute to the further strengthening of ties with Serbia, in his capacity as Secretary General of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Serbia, playing an important role in strengthening peace and stability in the Western Balkans.
