First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic met today in London at the margins of the Global Conference on Media Freedom, with Minister of State for the Commonwealth and United Nations Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the recent visit of Lord Ahmad to Belgrade. The senior British official thanked Minister Dacic for a strong statement of support he had given on the occasion in the fight against sexual violence in conflicts.

The Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs informed that Serbia subscribed to the joint declaration in which the participating countries of the Global Conference on Media Freedom were concerned about global negative trends in the field of media freedom and expressed their willingness to actively contribute to the fight for independent and responsible journalism.

The meeting also noted that there was a mutual political will to take advantage of the positive momentum in bilateral relations, which Lord Ahmad believed would be maintained regardless of the person of the future Prime Minister.
