Under instructions received from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic, Charge d'affaires a.i. of the Bulgarian Embassy in Belgrade Iva Kruleva was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the statement made by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov regarding the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo and Metohija.
It was emphasized once again that Prime Minister Borisov's statement was unacceptable since it was inaccurate and concerned the most important issue to any country, i.e. its territorial integrity. That statement was contrary to the expectations of the Republic of Serbia in regard to friendly and good-neighborly relations. The Serbian side expressed the hope that such statement would not be repeated in the future. The position of EU is not an independent Kosovo and everyone should honor this position.

The Serbian side reiterated readiness of the Republic of Serbia to develop and deepen the good-neighborly relations with Bulgaria and expressed gratitude for Bulgaria's support to our EU integration.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic will meet tomorrow with Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva at an informal meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of OSCE Participating States, to be held in the High Tatras under Slovakia's chairmanship.
