Political consultations and Joint Committee for Cooperation between Serbia and Switzerland

Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Serbia and Switzerland were held in Bern, on 5 June 2019. Serbian delegation was headed by State Secretary of Foreign Ministry Nemanja Stevanovic. His host was Kristina Marti Lang, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.

In a substantive and friendly talks, the two collocutors concluded that the bilateral relations between the two countries were very good and diverse, and that the priorities for future cooperation were preservation of the pace of political dialogue both on the highest and top levels, further development of economic cooperation, especially attracting new Swiss investments, cooperation in the fields of education, innovation, digitization.

Views on the situation in the Western Balkan region, relations between Serbia and Switzerland with the European Union and on other important issues were exchanged.


The Swiss side was informed about the positions of Serbia regarding the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

On the same day, the 9th session of the Joint Committee for Economic Co-operation was held in Bern, co-chaired by State Secretary Nemanja Stevanovic and Ervin Bolinger, Head of the Department for Bilateral Relations at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.

The next round of political consultations will be held in Belgrade, in 2020, while the next meeting of the Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation will also be held in Belgrade, in 2021.
