First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic participated in the annual meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Visegrad Group (V4) and the Western Balkans.

"Unfortunately, holding of today's meeting of V4 with Western Balkan partners and representatives of the European Union coincided with an incident, more precisely with an attack of the Pristina police security force and special units against northern Kosovo. It was one of the major topics at this meeting.

I expressed our grave concern and indignation as well as our firm resolve to send a clear message to the European Union and western partners that they needed to undertake all measures so that the Kosovo security forces withdraw from the north of Kosovo as soon as possible.

I conveyed the position of President Vucic, unanimously supported in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Government position that Serbia would not allow that its people living in Kosovo and Metohija be harassed and attacked.

Most participants in this event expressed grave concern, including Angelina Eichhorst who said that she received a call from President Vucic asking her to inform other factors, as mediator in the dialogue, that Serbia is firmly resolved to protect its people in Kosovo and Metohija.

Such incidents are pushing us away from dialogue.

I repeat that Serbia wants a dialogue, the dialogue that will help us find a compromise solution and do something good for our peoples in the region.

Six years have passed since the Brussels Agreement, considered historic, and we are still facing a succession of new incidents obscuring the fact that the Brussels Agreement is not implemented, such as implementation and establishment of Community of Serbian Municipalities, including the agreement on how the security forces may enter the north of Kosovo – by informing in advance KFOR and local Serbian mayors.

We are highly concerned with the developments in Kosovo and Metohija and we conveyed our concerns and emphasized our readiness to protect our people as may be necessary", Serbian Foreign Minister said.
