Mutual pleasure at the visit by Mayor of Tunis to Serbia

1idgt13519 resultFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with the Mayor of Tunis, Mrs. Souad Abderrahim, who is visiting Serbia and Belgrade upon his invitation.

Minister Dacic voiced pleasure at the visit by the Mayor of Tunis and reminded of the traditional friendship between Serbia and Tunisia which was established immediately after Tunisia gained independence.

The interlocutors noted that political relations were excellent, but that work on further strengthening of cooperation was needed, particularly in the areas of education, economy and pharmaceutical industry. They agreed to start the preparation of the Protocol on Cooperation between the cities of Belgrade and Tunis, and cooperation between other cities and municipalities in Serbia and Tunisia.

The Mayor of Tunis thanked Minister Dacic for the warm reception and welcome, expressing her pleasure at the visit to Serbia. She stressed that there was still room for improvement in cooperation and that as Mayor and president of the Association of Tunisian Cities and Municipalities she would undertake personal effort to further strengthen relations between the two countries.
