Owing to the calm, composure and high professionalism of the flight crew and of other relevant Russian authorities many lives were saved, preventing a larger-scale tragedy. Serbia stands ready to offer assistance, within its capacities, to the brotherly people of Russia in this difficult time.

The Sheremetyevo Airport tragic incident caused an irretrievable loss to the families of the victims. Please convey to them, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and myself, most heartfelt condolences", reads the message of condolence from the Serbian Foreign Minister.
