Minister Dacic visits Parliament of Georgia

2ppg19042019 resultFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today in Tbilisi with George Volski, Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia.

The Parliament's Deputy Chairperson informed Minister Dacic about the priorities and tasks of the Parliament in its work, including the results achieved towards the promotion of the parliamentary system in Georgia.

He underlined in particular the importance of international law, the principle of territorial integrity and respect for these tenets as fundamental to international relations.

The officials jointly noted the high level of political bilateral cooperation maintained between the two countries, as demonstrated by a Georgian parliamentary delegation's recent visit to the Republic of Serbia, adding that it was necessary to round off the cooperation with a development in the economy, in respect of which significant potential and interest were identified.

Minister Dacic got his collocutor acquainted with the reform process pursued by the Serbian Government and the situation with regard to European integration.

Both sides agreed that further cooperation between the two countries' Parliaments was an important segment in the overall enhancement of bilateral relations and that it would be continued by exchanging visits of lawmakers aiming to further enrich the ties, cooperation and joint work through sharing experiences and by working together to protect the territorial integrity of both states, including the sharing of experiences related to European integration.

After the meeting, Minister Dacic signed a book of honorary guests of the Georgian Parliament.
