Minister Dacic thanked UNDP for its support to Serbia’s progress along EU road

Mirjana Spoljaric2First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with Mrs. Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, Assistant United Nations Secretary-General, Assistant Administrator of UN Development Programme and Director of the UN Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, who came to Serbia to take part in the second Western Balkans Digital Summit. Mrs. Spoljaric Egger made a statement at the Summit's opening session yesterday.

Minister Dacic expressed his satisfaction with Mrs. Spoljaric Egger's first visit to Serbia shortly after taking office in October 2018. He expressed gratitude for UNDP's past efforts in many areas, particularly for extending technical assistance and expertise for development projects, support to the implementation of 2030 UN Sustainable Development Agenda and the establishment of a sustainable system of provision of development and humanitarian assistance.

The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasized that the UNDP activities contributed to comprehensive reforms in our society and to Serbia's progress along the EU accession path.

Mrs. Spoljaric Egger expressed her view that the past cooperation yielded very good results and demonstrated readiness to support an ever more active UNDP engagement in Serbia during her tenure.
