altOn 12 December, the Serbian Embassy in Yerevan commemorated an anniversary since the accident in which 7 Serbian pilots lost their lives while transporting humanitarian aid to Armenia after the 1988 earthquake. The Embassy laid a wreath at the Broken Wing monument near the accident site, located 25 km outside Yerevan in Armavir Province.

The monument was erected in 1995 to honour the memory of the Air Force and Air Defence personnel members Vladimir Ercic, Predrag Marinkovic, Milenko Simic, Milan Micic, Borisa Mosurovic, Milisav Petrovic and Jovan Zisov, in Arshaluys village, Armavir Province. While commemorating this tragic event, it has become one of the symbols of solidarity and friendship between the Serbian and Armenian peoples.

Chargé d'Affaires Tatjana Panajotovic Cvetkovic laid a wreath on behalf of the Serbian Embassy in Armenia as did Michael Vardanyan, Head of Second Division for Bilateral Relations at the Europe Department of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Armenian side.

Due to the epidemiological situation, a smaller-scale commemorative ceremony was arranged in attendance of Honorary Consul of Serbia in Yerevan Babken Simonyan and representatives of Serbian diaspora from Yerevan.
