Seoul: Exhibition "Imprinted in Time" opens

altAn exhibition of modern Serbian art "Imprinted in Time" was officially opened in Seoul at the Gallery of the Institute for Political Studies - ASAN on October 29. Contemporary Serbian graphics were exhibited - a selection of works of students of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. The exhibition will on view until November 9th.
 
The exhibition was realized on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Korea, in cooperation with the Embassy, the Ministry of Culture of Serbia and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. The opening was attended by a number of guests from Korean government institutions, professors and students from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies where Serbian language is taught, representatives of the media, NGOs, diplomatic corps and Serbian citizens studying and working in Korea.

Welcome speeches were delivered by ASAN Political Studies Institute President Han Sung-joo and Ambassador Zoran Kazazovic, who highlighted the excellent relations between Serbia and Korea over the past 30 years, their continued promotion and expansion of cooperation, especially internationally, and the protection of cultural heritage. The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, Dimitrije Pecic, explained the techniques of workmanship and the historical background of graphic art in Serbia to the visitors of the exhibition.

The text on the Konas portal states that graphics in Serbia have a long tradition, dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries, that the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade was founded in 1937 under the name Academy of Fine Arts, and it got its today's name in 1973 when it became a part of the University of Art in Belgrade.
