On 1 December, the 800th Anniversary of Autocephaly of the Serbian Orthodox Church was ceremoniously celebrated at the Serbian Orthodox Church in the Belgian capital, organized by the Western European Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Saint Sava Parish.
Following the liturgy which more than 100 people attended, priest Milan Zivanovic from Antwerp and Ambassador Marina Jovicevic addressed the attendees. She pointed out that the establishment of an independent Serbian archiepiscopate in 1219, the dedication of its founder and first Head - Archbishop Saint Sava and his brother Stefan the First-Crowned represented a paramount historical event.
