The magazine of the Serbian diaspora in the United States and Canada 'Slovo' (Letter) has featured an interview with Ambassador Djerdj Matkovic in its November issue, headlined "Belgrade wants better relations with Washington".

The Ambassador emphasized that the last generations of Serbian expatriates in the States were interested in promoting economic, scientific and cultural ties with their motherland. He spoke about the Kosovo issue, differing stances of the two countries as well as an increase in economic cooperation pointing out that the U.S. belongs among the largest foreign investors in Serbia.
