On 27 September, at the invitation of Ethiopian Patriarch Mathias, Ambassador Aleksandar Ristic attended in Addis Ababa the celebration of the Feast of the Cross, one of the most important religious festivals observed by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.

At the central Meskel Square, "the square of the Holy Cross", hundreds of thousands of worshippers, representatives of the federal and local authorities, religious leaders from the country and beyond, and diplomats, gathered to observe a day of special importance for Ethiopian Christendom.

In a statement for ENA Ethiopian news agency given at the ceremony, Ambassador Ristic spoke about the Ethiopian culture, tourism opportunities and bilateral cooperation.
