Rio de Janeiro: Honorary Consulate opened

altThe Honorary Consulate of Serbia in Rio de Janeiro, headed by Mr. Dejan Petkovic as Honorary Consul, was inaugurated on the occasion at a ceremony held on September 11.

Honorary Consul Dejan Petkovic and Serbia's Ambassador to Brazil Veljko Lazic addressed the guests.

"I thank Dejan Petkovic for all that he has done during his rich football career, and especially for promoting our country in Brazil, always presenting it in the best way, fully deserving the title of Honorary Consul in Rio de Janeiro," said Ambassador Lazic.

Honorary Consul Dejan Petkovic said he would continue to represent Serbia as best he could in the country where he had lived for 22 years.

The ceremony was attended by about 60 guests, including the Head of the MFA Protocol in Rio de Janeiro, Ambassador Eduardo Ramos, representatives of the Government and Secretariat of Culture of Rio de Janeiro, former Ambassador of Brazil to Belgrade Alehandre Ador, personalities from the artistic, cultural and public life, members of the Serb community in Rio and friends of Mr. Dejan Petkovic.
