![]() Welcoming the guests, Ambassador Glisic underlined that Serbia despite being a small country was very proficient in sports and expressed his particular pleasure over the fact that the city of Fujimi from this prefecture was approved by the Japanese Government as a host city to Serbian national volleyball and wrestling teams. The Ambassador noted that Serbia had great expectations about winning medals and singled out tennis and basketball in this regard, but also that our people looked forward to our athletes competing at the Tokyo Games 2020. ![]() At the event, each host city had a booth introducing the country it would be welcoming, its culture and athletes, which included the city of Fujimi and its presentation on Serbia. The Mayor of Fujimi Mitsuhiro Hoshino, who visited Serbia from 8-11 July with his delegation, in the meeting with the Serbian Ambassador conveyed his positive impressions about the visit. He underlined in particular that that city's representatives would continue to work on further deepening the cooperation with its sister city of Sabac, the Olympic Committee of Serbia, Serbian Wrestling and Handball Federations with which the city of Fujimi signed cooperation agreements on 10 July at the Embassy of Japan in Belgrade. |
