Ambassador to Ethiopia, Aleksandar Ristic, participated in a mini football/futsal tournament in Addis Ababa on July 7, on the team selected by the diplomatic corps. Our ambassador played in the match against the team of government representatives consisting of ministers and the state prosecutor.

The tournament was held as part of the celebration of the Olympic Week, with the participation of state officials, the ruling coalition, opposition parties, sports journalists and diplomats.

Speaking about the importance of sports in connecting people, the President of the Ethiopian National Olympic Committee, Dr. Ashebir Woldegiorgis, told diplomats that Serbia had found a great way to pay tribute to the Ethiopian sport, in whose main town there is a street named after the celebrated athlete Abebe Bikila.
