Prior to the screening of the film, the attendees were addressed by the envoy of the Ministry of Defence of Serbia, Lieutenant Colonel Dusko Djekic, who recalled that Serbia paid tribute to the victims of NATO bombing, on 24 March, remembered its victims from that war and from all other wars as well.

"Twenty years have elapsed since the NATO bombing, but memories are still very much alive, as well as the consequences of the conflict uncalled-for. At that time, part of the international community intervened militarily at the end of the civil war on the territory of the former SFRY by pursuing their own political, economic and military objectives. Generally, the military does not support wars, because they are familiar with the consequences thereof, but they do make decisions in time of war and not about the war. Therefore, in 1999, the armed forces spearheaded the defence of the then state of Yugoslavia, performing their constitutional role and doing what they have committed to by their oath of military service and honour", Lt Colonel Dusko Djekic said on the occasion of commemorating the anniversary of NATO bombing.
