Buenos Aires: An exhibition on Miroslav's Gospel staged on the occasion of Serbian National Day

altAn exhibition of Miroslav's Gospel facsimiles, staged by the Serbian Embassy on the occasion of National Day of the Republic of Serbia, opened at the National Library of Argentina on 1 March. The exhibition which includes a multimedia presentation and several panels related to Miroslav's Gospel is on display until 31 March.

National Library Director Elsa Barber and Ambassador Jela Bacovic opened the exhibition. In a brief opening statement, Ms. Barber noted that she was pleased with the exhibition opening as well as cooperation with both the Serbian Embassy in Buenos Aires and the National Library of Serbia. Ambassador Bacovic spoke about Miroslav's Gospel and its historical, cultural and spiritual relevance.

As the exhibition was held to mark the National Day of R. Serbia, the reception was attended by numerous guests including diplomats, officials from the Argentine MFA, the Parliament and the city of Buenos Aires, and representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the local Serbian community. The reception featured elements of Serbian national identity such as folk costumes, ornaments and food served.

The attendees showed great interest for the main exhibit and accompanying items on display, including the catalogue and magnetic ornaments adorned with imagery from Miroslav's Gospel.
