altIl Piccolo daily published a report on the celebration of the Statehood Day of Serbia at the Consulate General in Trieste, headlined "National Day of the Serbs in Trieste under the sign of Integration." The text quoted from the address delivered by Consul General Ivana Stojiljkovic on the hospitality of Trieste residents, gratitude to the Mayor Roberto Dipiazza, as well as her comments about the significance of the historical events of February 15th.

"The First Serbian Uprising took place on the Statehood Day in 1804 while the first Serbian Constitution was promulgated on the same date in 1835. This year we celebrate 140 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and Serbia. Trieste is a city that testifies to good-quality economic and cultural relations between our two countries. Italy is one of the most important economic partners to Serbia. We are thankful to all Italian investors who have recognized Serbia as a country suitable for their future investment projects," Consul General Stojiljkovic said.

Il Piccolo underlined that the most important annual celebration for the Serbian community was marked by the music performance of a string trio composed of students of Serbian origin from Conservatorio di Musica "Giuseppe Tartini" and by attendance of special guests, ranging from the Mayor of Trieste Roberto Dipiazza to local business representatives.
