Consul General Goran Petrovic and Consul Vladimir Marjanovic visited on 24 January primary school "Ivan Goran Kovacic" in Vrbovsko and regional schools in Gomirje and Moravice which hold supplementary classes in the Serbian language and teach the Cyrillic alphabet.
They donated 20 school bags and additional textbooks provided by the Provincial Secretariat for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government of Vojvodina, Teachers' College from Sombor and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At a reception hosted by the principal of the school in Vrbovsko Anton Buric, Consul General Petrovic reiterated Serbia's interest in the exercise of the rights of the Serbian minority in Croatia in line with the regulations in force and the agreements signed between the two countries and in preserving Serbian language and alphabet classes in areas populated by the Serbs. He wished the schoolchildren to enjoy these gifts and continue to learn and grow. |
