London: A film about Admiral Ernest Troubridge screened at the Serbian Embassy

altA screening of "The Forgotten Admiral Troubridge", a documentary film by Snezana Zaric, which was held on 22 January at the Serbian Embassy in the context of the cultural event commemorating the 100th anniversary of WWI Armistice, also opened the Month of Serbian Culture, organized for the eleventh year in a row in the UK.

Welcoming the audience, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in London Aleksandra Joksimovic pointed to the importance of preserving the memory of the role that Rear Admiral Troubridge played in World War I. She emphasized that future good relations should be modelled on such examples from history.

The screening was attended by the grandson of the British Rear Admiral, Sir Thomas Troubridge, who expressed his gratitude to the Radio Television of Serbia, the Serbian Ministry of Defence and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for supporting the making of the documentary which saved from oblivion the memory of Rear Admiral Troubridge. Serbian Education Minister Mladen Sarcevic, members of the diplomatic corps and the diaspora were also among those present.
