Following a series of cultural events organized by the Consulate General of Serbia in New York and marking the hundredth anniversary of the end of the WWI, screening of a documentary film "Milunka Savic – heroine of the Great War" by the author Sladjana Zaric was held on the premises of the Consulate General.

Addressing the guests, Consul General Mirjana Zivkovic stressed the highly important, yet often forgotten role Serbian women played in World War One – not only on the battlefield but also outside of it.

Prior to the screening actress Katarina Radivojevic performed a short soliloquy from Vesna Stanojevic's monodrama "Milunka Savic".



Members of the Serbian community attended the event together with their American friends who take interest in WWI.
