altAmbassador Veljko Lazic and Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs Aloysio Nunes Ferreira signed an agreement allowing the families of diplomatic and consular missions' staff to work and earn money on the territory of the receiving country. The Agreement between Serbia and Brazil allowing the dependants of diplomatic, consular, military, administrative and technical staff in diplomatic and consular missions to carry out remunerated activity was signed on 13 December at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brasília.

The Serbian Ambassador and Brazilian Minister agreed that signing the agreement in the year marking the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Brazil confirmed friendly relations between the two countries which, although geographically distant, are in fact very close.

Minister Nunes underlined his satisfaction with the fact that the agreement was signed, expressing his hope that the cooperation between Serbia and Brazil would continue to be deepened in the future. In courtesy talks held prior to signing the Agreement, Ambassador Veljko Lazic briefed the Minister about the latest developments regarding Kosovo and Metohija and conveyed gratitude for Brazil's principled position on Kosovo.

Brazilian media reported on the event by posting the news of the agreement on the web portals "Brasília in foco", "Embassy Brasília" and "Conversando com mundo". All these media stressed the good cooperation between Serbia and Brazil underpinned by mutual support in international organizations and the support Brazil had offered to the preservation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.
