Traditional conference devoted to famous scientist Nikola Tesla was held on 12 January in New Yorker Hotel, co-organized by the Tesla Science Foundation from Philadelphia and the Consulate General of Serbia.

The conference keynote speaker, Consul General Mirjana Zivkovic, in her welcome remarks thanked the Foundation for its endeavors as well as to the New Yorker Hotel for keeping the memory of their famous guest alive. She reminded numerous participants, guests and those who followed the conference live, of the event's importance as well as the fact that Serbia had supported the work of this foundation since the very beginning.



"All of us have to see to it that we make our own contribution so that Tesla's name and achievements become more visible and present in everyday life in the United States. That kind of contribution was made by the Foundation's honorary President David Vujic, who in cooperation with Congressman Ted Poe from Texas, managed to include the Nikola Tesla exhibition in the Smithsonian Museum permanent display", Consul Mirjana Zivkovic said.



At the opening of the conference, actress Katarina Radivojevic read excerpts from letters believed to have been sent by Nikola Tesla to his mother.



The Tesla Science Foundation with Nikola Loncar at the helm, has been promoting the life and work of our scientist since 2010, in an effort to add his name to the list of distinguished Americans who made an outstanding contribution to science and technology. Unfairly neglected, Nikola Tesla has still not been accorded a place he deserves in the U.S. education system, which is why only natural science students get to know his name and inventions.

Since the conferences on Tesla first started back in 2013, the Consulate General in New York supported the activities of the Foundation and took part in its co-financing. The conference traditionally brings together great many Tesla enthusiasts from different fields of science, education, art, entrepreneurship, of various ages aimed at promoting his life and work.
