altPromotion of a book in the Japanese language "Learn to cook Serbian food with Jelena" by Jelena Jeremic was held at the Serbian Embassy in Tokyo, on 9 November. The book publishing was made possible by the Association for the Promotion of Music Cooperation between Serbia and Japan, headed by the spouse of the former Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Ecuko Cunozaki. The book was printed by the Japanese publisher "Buna no mori" and will be sold in the bookstores across Japan as from 5 December.

Ambassador Nenad Glisic thanked everyone who contributed to the publishing of the cook book in Japanese, in which Serbia had a central place, and making it one of the means for promoting the tourist potential of Serbia and increasing the recognition of our country and culture in Japan.

The author, Jelena Jeremic, presented the book's content comprising more than 50 recipes of Balkan cuisine, ranging from Zlakus, Serbian breakfast, Slavic table, to the menu of Nikola Tesla and Marshal Tito.

The promotion was opened by students from the Tokyo University for Foreign Studies, who performed Serbian folk dances in national costumes. It is a group that has been performing Serbian national folk dances for many years, the first members of which visited Serbia and took part in workshops with "Branko Cvetkovic" Cultural and Art Association. Jelena Jeremic was one of the initiators and the first group's instructor at Tokyo University.

The promotion was attended by Mayors of Fujimi, the twin town of Šabac, Micuhiru Hosinu and of Kashivazaki, the host city of the water polo national team of Serbia prior to the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Masahiru Sakurai. The guests received a copy of the book each and were served Serbian specialities and wines.
