Luxembourg: Event at the Serbian Cultural Centre dedicated to the end of the war

altThe film "Serbia in the Great War", marking the centenary of the end of WWI, was screened at the Serbian Cultural Centre in Luxembourg. Serbian Ambassador to Brussels Marina Jovicevic and President of the Serbian Cultural Centre (SCC) Marko Katanic addressed the attendees before the screening.

Ambassador Marina Jovicevic pointed out that it was the victories of the Serbian army on the Balkan battlefront that led to the Armistice signed by the Central Powers, on 11 November 1918. She explained the meaning of the Natalie's Ramonda symbolizing Serbia. SCC President Marko Katanic emphasized huge losses that Serbia suffered in WWI and the overall contribution to the side of the victorious powers.

In addition to members of our diaspora in Luxembourg, a number of prominent citizens of Luxembourg from the local administration and lawyers also attended the event. A cocktail reception, serving Serbian food and drinks, was hosted by members of the Serbian community in Luxembourg.
