altSerbian Ambassador to Hungary Rade Drobac was invested with the Order of the Cross Third Class in recognition of "a prominent role in the development of the Hungarian-Serbian political, economic and cultural ties, as well as the realization of meetings between the representatives of the two countries."

At the ceremonial hall of the Ministry, on 8 November, Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Staraj presented the Serbian Ambassador to Hungary with the Order of the Cross Third Class, a high-ranking decoration for exceptional merits. Staraj pointed out that Drobac significantly contributed to the improved political, economic and cultural relations between Hungary and Serbia, that he successfully participated in the preparation and realization of joint sessions of the governments of Hungary and Serbia, and that his overall performance was worth of praise, which was why the President of Hungary Janoš Ader decorated him.

Following the decoration ceremony, Ambassador Drobac said he was very happy and proud of having received such a high recognition from Hungary. He stressed that in the past five years, in addition to representing the interests of the Republic of Serbia, he intensively tried to bring the two neighbouring countries closer to each other and help to improve their relations in all areas. He emphasized that the decoration was a confirmation that he succeeded in doing so and that it was therefore with satisfaction that he was leaving Hungary, convinced that good and increasingly better relations between Serbia and Hungary would continue, and further improve.

The Hungarian government's website points out that the mission of the Serbian Ambassador was marked by the process of reconciliation, that the situation of the Hungarian and Serbian minorities in the two countries was significantly improved and an annual trade turnover of more than 3 billion euros was realized. He also recalled the meeting between the Presidents of Serbia and Hungary, as well as the unveiling of the Monument to Hungarian victims of reprisal and collective guilt in 1944/45.
