New York: Lecture by art conservation expert Olga Nikolic Litvin

altAt the invitation of Consul General Mirjana Zivkovic, a New York artist of Serbian descent Olga Nikolic Litvin spoke about her experience as an art conservator to the visitors of the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York.

In her lecture entitled "Causes of damage to paintings and icons: how can the conservator help you", she focused on her work on the restoration of frescoes and icons in Serbian medieval monasteries.

Olga Nikolic Litvin presented the works from her studio and introduced the visitors to the most common damages, challenges and techniques of restoration of icons and fresco paintings as well as to the tools and material she uses in her work. The attendants were also offered a series of practical advice on how to protect their own pieces of art from the detrimental effect of external elements and damage, and she also answered the questions from the audience.
