Moscow: Ambassador Terzic assesses knowledge about Serbia on a TV quiz show

altSerbian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Slavenko Terzic presided over a panel of judges on "Umnici & Umniki", a TV quiz show promoting education and science, in a semi-final show broadcast on Channel One Russia on 31 March 2018. The forty-minute show was dedicated to Serbia, in the context of a block called "Peoples of the Balkans – History up to WWI". The presenter and host of the quiz broadcast for 26 years now is Yuri Viazemsky, Professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Ambassador Terzic assessed each contestant's answers, further explaining certain events and persons from Serbian history. The participating high school students from all regions of Russia showed solid knowledge about historical figures, events, culture, tradition and customs of medieval Serbia.

The final part of the quiz included a brief interview with Ambassador Terzic, who spoke about important figures who had left their mark in the fields of culture, education and science in Europe, Serbia and Russia. The Ambassador also spoke about the historical intertwining of civilizations and the need for being familiar with history in order to understand the present and the future of the contemporary world.
