Kashiwazaki: Serbia presented in the Niigata Prefecture

altMs. Tijana Nagato from the Embassy of Serbia in Japan held the Serbian cooking class in the town of Kashiwazaki, Niiagata Prefecture, hosted by the International Exchange Association of the latter. The lunch with Serbian dishes served was attended by representatives of the town, at which Serbian Ambassador Nenad Glisic replied to the questions about Serbia. The Ambassador's presence was covered by the local media and the news was posted on the official website of the town of Kashiwazaki.

Kashiwazaki will be the host city of the Serbian Water Polo National Team at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Ambassador Glisic and Interpreter Nagato payed a visit to the town on 17 and 18 March, at the invitation of the Mayor Masahiro Sakurai.

Further advancement of cooperation opportunities between the town of Kashiwazaki and the cities in Serbia were discussed at the meeting with the Mayor. Ambassador Glisic also met the President of the Japanese "Bourbon" company Yasushi Yoshida, which is manufacturing confectionery and sponsoring the local water polo club under the same name as well as the Japanese junior water polo league. The Serbian Ambassador also attended the opening ceremony of the water polo junior championship of Japan and toured the accommodation and training facilities for our water polo players at the Olympic Games 2020.
