New Delhi: A poetry evening at the Embassy

altOn the occasion of the commemoration of the 70th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and India, a poetry event "Evening of words and rhythm-merging thoughts in Serbian and Indian poetry" was held at the Embassy of Serbia in New Delhi, on 20 March. A selection of poems of our well-known poets were presented.

The evening was opened by Ambassador Vladimir Maric. Indian Ambassador Amarendra Kathua, former Director of the Indian Center for Cultural Relations and President of the Poetic Society of India H.K. Kaul were honorary guests. The granddaughter of the famous Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi, Smt. Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee, also attended the evening.

Poetry was recited by university professors, state officials, journalists, artists, businessmen and students, members of the "Poetry via Culture" Association.
