As he brings his mission in the Slovak Republic to an end, Serbian Ambassador Sani Dermaku gave an extensive interview to SITA Slovak news agency, which was published in two instalments. The interview focused on the topic of Serbia-Slovakia relations, including the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and Serbia's European integration. Furthermore, the interviewer and the interviewee discussed the current issue of Serbian citizens travelling to Slovakia for jobs.

Ambassador Dermaku underlined that Serbia appreciated Slovakia's support regarding two key issues – support to its European integration path and non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of "Kosovo" - as well as that Serbia and Slovakia were tied by over 50,000 Slovaks, who had schools, media outlets and theatres in their own language in Serbia.
