altA film titled "The Drina Seven" recounting an act of heroism of seven Italian volunteers in the World War I, who participated alongside the Serbian army in the defence of Serbia, had its screening at the Serbian Embassy in Rome.

The Drina Seven, directed by Nicola Lorenzin, is a testimony of Italian volunteers who were on Babina Glava cliff, above the River Drina, on the last day of the Battle of Cer. Their names are engraved in the memorial plaque in Tekeris devoted to the heroes of the Battle of Cer: Cesare brothers and Ugo Colizza, Arturo Reali, Mario Corvisieri, Francesco Conforti, Nicola Goretti and Vincenzo Bucca.

In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Goran Aleksic reminded the guests of the ties between Serbian and Italian peoples that should be better known as well as of the forgotten values and high ethics of the Italian volunteers who were worthy of remembrance and praise. Furthermore, he expressed gratitude for the efforts of individuals and institutions that were involved in the making of the film.

The screening was attended by representatives of the Italian army, institutions, military archive, association of the Serbian diaspora in Rome, the National Coordination for Yugoslavia association – Onlus, Section for Diaspora and Serbs in the Region at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and numerous friends of the Embassy.

The film was produced by the Zastava Film Military Film Centre, while its making was jointly supported by the Ministries of Defence and of Culture and the Media of the Republic of Serbia as well as by the Italian Armed Forces General Staff.
