+ larger fontnormal font- Smaller font
altOn 13 January, "Oblate" Library in Florence hosted the presentation of the project "Babylon Bridge – give a book, build a bridge" given by "Start-up Projects" Association, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Rome, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Florence and "Singidunum" diaspora association.

The National Library of the Republic of Serbia donated to "Oblate" Library a large number of books in the Serbian language. The drive, recently launched by "Start-up Projects" in Nis, which is in progress enabled libraries "Stevan Sremac" and "Nikola Tesla" to collect great many titles. The promotion of the project at "Oblate" Library was the first step towards the construction of a Serbian language library in Florence. At the opening of the library, citizens were urged to participate in the collection of books in the Italian language, to be donated to the National Library "Stevan Sremac" and the University Library "Nikola Tesla" in Nis, within a unique cultural exchange.

The Library opening included reviews of children's books: "A Tour of Serbia" by Simeon Marinkovic, and "Ajvar Ala Smazala" by Gordana Simovic, intended for a multicultural workshop and a Serbian language course for children from 5-10 years old, being held once a month in the Library premises.
The project was inaugurated in the Library's hall, in the presence of dozens of Italian and Serbian invitees, addressed via an audio link by Serbian Ambassador in Rome Goran Aleksic.
