Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Iran Dragan Todorovic visited Iranian state news agency Irna on 30 January and held talks with its director Seyed Zia Hashemi. The Ambassador and the Agency Director agreed that the media should provide a true picture of events to both the public and the officials.

They underlined the importance of expanding economic, cultural, sports and tourist ties between the two countries. The Ambassador conveyed Serbia's desire to maintain good political relations with Iran and extended an invitation to the Iranian Foreign Minister to visit Serbia. Director of Irna commended the abolition of visas for Iranian nationals wishing to visit Serbia as well as the planned establishment of direct flights between Belgrade and Tehran and expressed readiness to cooperate with Serbian media outlets.
