Moscow: Exhibition “Above the Danube River” and screening of the “Vidovdan” (Saint Vitus Day)

moskva aktivnosti_2862016The exhibition of paintings of a group of Russian artists under the title "Above the Danube River" was opened on 28 June 2016 at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Moscow.

The artwork by artists M. Volkova, G. Smelko, N. Rot, N. Shirokova, T. Naukina and S. Suzdaltseva was created during their last year's stay in Serbia.  On this occasion, works by Serbian painter Ugljesa Colic were exhibited as well. The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Moscow, H.E. Slavenko Terzic, former Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Belgrade Valery Yegoshkin and the exhibition organiser, artist Svetlana Suzdaltseva addressed the audience. The opening of the exhibition was followed by the screening of Russian director Maxim Yakubson's documentary film "Vidovdan" ("St. Vitus Day"), which was dedicated to the suffering of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and to marking a major Serbian holiday. Prior to the film screening, Ambassador Terzic spoke to the guests about the importance of Vidovdan and Kosovo and Metohija as the birthplace of identity of the Serbian people.
