New York: Maja Herman-Sekulic promotes “Who was Nikola Tesla?“ and “Ma Belle- the First American Lady of Serbia”

Promotion of "Who was Nikola Tesla?" and "Ma Belle- the First American Lady of Serbia", two books authored by Maja Herman-Sekulic, took place at the Consulate-General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, on 31 March 2016, and was marked with large attendance.

Maja Herman-Sekulic is the author of 14 books of poetry and prose, and holds membership of both the Serbian PEN Center and the PEN American Center. The novel titled "Ma Belle- the First American Lady of Serbia" was recently nominated for the NIN Award, and it tells the story of Mabel Grujic, the wife of one of the most influential Serbian politicians from the early XX century, Slavko Grujic, the son of Jevrem Grujic. On the occasion of this novel's New York promotion, the descendent of the Grujic family Alek Conic mounted an exhibition of photographs from the Belgrade "Home of Jevrem Grujic" museum, never shown in public before. "Who was Nikola Tesla?", the book published in the English language, treats Nikola Tesla's biography, his life in America, his inventions and his obsession with wireless and free energy transmission, conflicts at the then scientific stage, and the stolen patents.
