mapa maliThe Republic of Serbia welcomes the commencement of the second phase of the inter-Malian inclusive dialogue aimed at finding a comprehensive solution to the conflict. Serbia congratulates the Republic of Mali on the successful completion of the first phase of the dialogue and the signing of the Roadmap of negotiations.

PDR of Algeria, by its thoughtful and responsible approach, and its constructive role in mediating between the negotiating parties, confirmed its position as an important regional and international factor in conflict mediation and resolution.

Strongly supporting the territorial sovereignty and integrity of Mali, as well as the efforts of Algeria, the United Nations, the African Union and CEDEAO towards a comprehensive settlement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia is optimistic about the continued inter-Malian dialogue.

The Republic of Serbia expresses satisfaction over the release of two Algerian hostages on August 30, with sincere regret at the death of Consul Boualem Cayce and murder of diplomat Taher Touati, who were in a group of seven Algerian diplomats kidnapped in April 2012.

The Republic of Serbia emphatically rejects terrorism as a method for achieving political, ethnic and religiously motivated aims or resolving outstanding issues and believes that a sustainable solution must come through dialogue conducted within the ongoing process.
