Forty years of activity and operation of the Serbian Cultural Club marked in Budapest

teofiloviciThe Serbian Cultural Club in Budapest officially marked the 40th anniversary of its activity and existence. The ceremony was held at the Serbian Theatre in Budapest, and it was attended by the Ambassador, diplomats, defence and police attachés of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Hungary, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Hungary, representatives of the local self-government authorities of Hungarian Serbs, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Cultural and Documentation Centre of Hungarian Serbs, Nikola Tesla Serbian Kindergarten, Primary School, High School and Students' Home, Budapest, and other prominent Serbs in Hungary.

V. Jovanovic, the Secretary of the Serbian Cultural Club in Budapest, P. Lastic, its former Secretary, and the current President of the Serbian Institute in Budapest addressed the audience at the ceremony. Furthermore, reputed organizations and persons who have supported the work of the Club so far were presented with plaques.

Lana and Tara Vujanovic, two sisters and students from Budapest, sang in the culture and artistic part of the programme, and Katarina Jeremic recited verses. Moreover, a concert was given by the Teofilovic Twins. The concert was organized under the Rhythm of Identity project, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region.
