Celebration of the European Cooperation Day, organized by the Serbia - Bulgaria Cross-border Programme |

![]() On the Bulgarian side, the celebration was attended by the President of the National Assembly of Bulgaria, Mihail Mikov, Minister of Regional Development Desislava Terzieva, Regional Governor and the Mayor of Vidin, representative of the Trade and Industry Chamber of Commerce (BTPP) for the district of Vidin, as well as a number of MPs from the region of Northwestern Bulgaria. On the Serbian side, the celebration of this Day was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Bulgaria H.E. Vladimir Curgus, Kristina Askovic from the Office for European Integration of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Economic Counselor of the Embassy A. Milicevic. During the official part of the celebration, speeches were given by the President of the Assembly Mikov, Minister Terzieva and Ambassador Curgus. Addressing the audience, among whom were many citizens of the Republic of Serbia, the speakers emphasized the need to further support the cross-border cooperation programme between Serbia and Bulgaria, both by the political structures of the two countries at national and local levels, and by the European Commission. They agreed that this programme represents an important tool for accelerating the development of border regions which are underdeveloped. The presence and public address of Ambassador Curgus, who on this occasion called for the deepening of cooperation between the two countries in the area of accelerated economic development of the border regions, was welcomed by the officials of the Republic of Bulgaria and the citizens present at the event. |
