Political relations:
The relations between the two countries are marked by traditional friendship dating back to the Non-Aligned Movement, and there are no outstanding issues. In 2018, through numerous events, Serbia and India marked the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations (1948).
The year 2018 was also marked by two high-level visits. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic paid a visit to New Delhi, while Vice-President of India Mr. Venkaiah Naidu paid a visit to Serbia. Prior to this, the then Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia A. Vucic visited India to participate in Vibrant Gujarat Summit (which was the first visit at this level after almost three decades).
The two countries' high officials also had meetings at the margins of international gatherings – former President Tomislav Nikolic met the then President Pranab Mukherjee. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met India's Minister of State for External Affairs M. J. Akbar on the fringes of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly and the Bled Strategic Forum.
Economic relations:
In the 2017 total trade amounted to 174,5 million euros, of which Serbian exports were 9,5 million euros and imports 165 million euros.
