A farewell call from the Brazilian Ambassador

Ivica Dacic and Ms. Isabel Cristina de Azevedo HeyvaertFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a farewell call from the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Ms. Isabel Cristina de Azevedo Heyvaert.

In the talks, gratitude was conveyed for the Ambassador's active engagement and her contribution to the further development of the traditionally friendly Serbia-Brazil relations, while also affirming the interest of Serbia to continue to promote cooperation in all areas of mutual interest with Brazil, one of its key political and economic partners in and beyond the region of Latin America. Ambassador de Azevedo underlined in particular the importance of treaty basis having been promoted by bringing to an end drafting procedures for bilateral agreements, as well as the prospects for the enhancement of economic cooperation.

Minister Dacic said that he was pleased to attend the inaugural ceremony for President Jair Bolsonaro on 1 January 2019 and to meet with the newly-appointed Foreign Minister Ernesto Araujo, emphasizing our readiness to continue to closely cooperate with the new Brazilian Government. The Minister reiterated his gratitude for the support offered by Brazil to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.
