First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic sent Christmas greetings to His Holiness Irinej, Patriarch of Serbian Orthodox Church, clergy, monastics and to all citizens of Serbia observing this holiday according to the Julian calendar.

"On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and my own behalf, I am pleased to wish you and all members of Orthodox faith, observing this holiday according to the Julian calendar, a merry Christmas. May all of us celebrate this Christmas in peace, grace, good health and joy with our loved ones.

I trust that this holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus will empower us to stand together in unity and reinforce our hope and faith in everlasting human values – forgiveness, mutual respect, and appreciation and recognition of differences.
