First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic presented today diplomatic passports to Serbian water polo trophy winners.
Following numerous, primarily gold medals won in Olympic, World, European and other competitions, Serbian national water polo team players, together with the team manager Dejan Savic and former players Slobodan Nikic and Zivko Gocic, were presented new travel documents. "I am very glad that we could finally realize this arrangement after many years, because it is difficult to find the time with all the obligations water polo players have. I cannot even recall every success they have achieved, as there are so many achievements that they should be given golden or diamond passports. This is not a recognition, but a need of Serbia for you to be its goodwill ambassadors," Minister Dacic said. "Serbian water polo national team is the best promotion for this country and its people", Minister Dacic stressed, "Water polo is the sport which has brought us the highest number of trophies, which is by no means proportional to how much we invest in it." Team Captain Filip Filipovic thanked Minister Dacic for this recognition. "We will try to justify the role of goodwill ambassadors by being the best and by working the hardest we can", Filipovic said. Serbia will host Water Polo World League next year in Belgrade. |
